Laguiole Knife Factory and Museum
Christophe Durand from the Laguiole Coutellerie was gracious enough to take the time to give us a tour of the family’s Laguiole knife store, museum, and factory. It was informative and interesting to see the Damascus forge and polishing wheels, and all the antique tools that have been used by generations of knife makers. Thanks to Christophe and also to his brother, Honore Durand V.
Laguiole is a charming town whose livelihood revolves around the famous namesake knives and also Laguiole cheese.
The weekend we were visiting, a festival was being held for the beautiful local Aubrac cows.
