The Solvang knife show is one of the nicest knife shows I have attended in recent years. It’s not too big, with a great selection of knife makers, and set in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
The Saturday evening bar-b-que was great fun for all the knife makers and collectors. It ended with a comedy routine by Shelly Berman, a knife collector himself, and the presenter of the best knife award, won by Dennis Friedly. We met some old friends and some knife makers new to us.
New knives: from Jay Hendrickson, Daniel Winkler,
Scott Slobodian, and Gil Hibben. Gil was celebrating his 50th year as a knife maker. Our new makers are Thomas McGuane IV from Montana with a great little Damascus hunter and Jeff Morgan from California with his wonderful everyday carry friction folders.
